ODM party leader Raila Odinga has on Thursday backed Limuru III’s one man, one vote, one shilling push which advocates for equitable revenue share of resources in the regions.
“I met with the Limuru 3 conference organizers. They gave a full status report of the event’s significant discussions and resolutions. We committed to continue working together to benefit Kenya and all Kenyans.” he said
According to Raila, the push for the agenda is to ensure that devolution is working and that counties receive 35% of the national resources.
- Petition filed to eject Cleophas Malala as UDA Secretary General
- Wetangula on the spot over meeting to unite his community
“I believe these deliberations will eventually help bridge gaps and enhance devolution in this country. 35% revenue share for counties is still our minimum.” he said
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who has been against former President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Azimio Alliance has recently joined the bandwagon calling on equitable share of the resources.
Gachagua has not only pointed out on the majority of votes coming from Mt. Kenya but also warned against the raising cost of living saying that some of the things being done now by the leaders will be audited at the ballot box.
