Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has spoken for the first time after he was excluded from Gareth Southgate squad for the upcoming Euro 2024.
Rashford wished the manager and the entire England squad the very best ahead of the tournament. “I’m wishing Gareth and the boys all the best for the up and coming tournament” he said
Speaking about the exclusion of Marcus Rashford was Southgate himself who noted that he felt that there are other players who had a great season than him.
- Roberto de Zerbi leaves Brighton at the end of the season
- Mbappe confirms PSG exit ahead of Real Madrid move
“I just feel other players in that area of the pitch have had better seasons. That’s it” he said
Other players who have been left out the England squad include Chilwell, Reece James, Henderson, Kalvin Phillips, Nick Pope, Raheem Sterling, Jadon Sancho, Levi Colwill.
Southgate also defended his decision to include Jordan Henderson in the squad saying that he has been supportive.
“It’s difficult for me to leave Henderson out of the squad, he’s always been supportive”he said.
“The determining factor was the injury he picked up in the last camp. He’s missed five weeks and hasn’t been able to get to the intensity required” said Southgate
