It has been revealed that the deadly brew in Kirinyaga that has so far claimed 17 lives was exhibit that had been kept at Kiamaciri police station.
Speaking on the new to Citizen TV was a police officer who revealed that the brew had been stored at the station was sold on Sunday night by four rogue police officers.

“Our four police officers on Sunday night sold exhibits to the owner of the California bar at Ksh. 20,000 where each officer pocketed Ksh. 5000 each. Please don’t quote me as nobody can confirm as all senior police officers have been transferred,” said the source to Citizen TV
After the illicit brew was sold, it would later be dispensed at California bar where the consumers would develop complications including loss of eyesight and immediate death of six people.
The news which has attracted the attention of Second Lady Dorcas Rigathi saw locals accuse police officers of engaging in the illegal trade as they called on speedy investigations of police officers at Kiamaciri police station.
On Friday night, an order by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua saw the redeployment of senior police officers in Kirinyaga as part of solution in the never ending illegal trade of illicit brew in the region.
