It has been revealed that the planned first deployment of Kenyan police officers to Haiti has been postponed after a flight from Nairobi was postponed on Thursday.
According to US officials, the planned deployment was meant to have the police officers at Port-au-Prince on Thursday to coincide with President William Ruto’s state visit to the US.

The previous deployment plans by the government was delayed due to legal challenges brought about by those opposed to the move and March surge of violence that saw the country’s Prime Minister resign.
Kenya has already committed to deploy 1,000 police office to the volatile Caribbean nation filled with gangs well known for killings, sexual abuse and kidnapping.
