River Nyando has on Friday morning burst its banks displacing families in the nearby Kamidumbi and Panadol areas of Ahero, Kisumu County.
According to Kenya Red Cross, they working with the National and County Government to guide in dealing with the floods as well as offer support to the affected.

“Early this morning, River Nyando burst its banks, displacing families from Kamidumbi and Panadol in Ahero, Kisumu County, who are now seeking refuge along the highway.
The Kenya Red Cross Action Team, in collaboration with the National and County Government, is on the ground conducting assessments to guide our response and support the affected communities.” said Kenya Red Cross
In the last three days, heavy downpour has been experienced in Kisumu and its environs disrupting the day to day activities in the area.
