Ms Rosemary Sipatan Kuraru has on Monday taken over as the new Director Forensic Services at DCI from Dr Mwangi Wanderi.
Wanderi has since been redeployed to National Police Service Headquarters as the new Director of Human Capital Development.
“Ms Kuraru, a seasoned professional, took over the mantle in a brief and colourful handing over ceremony witnessed by the Deputy Director Forensic Services, Mr Anthony Muriithi, CP and heads of different sections at the National Forensics Laboratory.

Madam Kuraru brings her wealth of knowledge and expertise to the forensic department, having served for over 31 years in the National Police Service in different capacities, having risen through the ranks to a Senior Assistant Inspector General (SAIG).
Up until her current posting, she had served as Director Human Capital Development of the National Police Service and Staff Personnel I at the Kenya Police Service Headquarters among other senior positions.
While making his farewell remarks, Dr Wanderi thanked the heads of sections for giving him unwavering support in the one year he served as the Head of Forensics Services.
Equally, he warmly welcomed the new Director, urging the Heads of Sections to accord her maximum cooperation and support in a broader endeavour to crack crime puzzles through forensics.” said DCI
