A Russian court has on Tuesday sentenced a U.S citizen to 15 year in jail for espionage as confirmed by local media.
Eugene Spector, born in Russia but later moved to the U.S before becoming a citizen was already serving a 3.5 years in prison over bribery allegations was slapped with a 13 year sentence adding his stay in jail to 15 years.

He was not only slapped with time in jail but also a fine of 14 million rubles which is equivalent of $140,000 in a ruling that was done behind closed doors.
Spector had moved back to Russia where he served as the  chairman of the board of Medpolymerprom Group, a medical equipment company before he was charged.
He was accused of bribing  Arkady Dvorkovich, a former Russian Deputy Prime Minister, allegations that he pleaded guilty of. In August 2023 he was accused of espionage with the details of the case not revealed to the public.
