President William Ruto has affirmed the country’s stand in the Russia and Ukraine war saying that the aggression displayed by Russia is unlawful.
Speaking during the peace meeting taking place in Switzerland, President Ruto called on both parties to soften their positions and let peace prevail.
“Russia’s aggression against Ukraine is unlawful, unjust and a violation of the fundamental principles of international law.

As we embark on the collective effort to resolve the conflict in Ukraine — and throughout the world — it is time for parties to the war to demonstrate good faith, abandon intransigent attitudes and soften their positions for lasting peace to be realised.

The statement has once again placed Kenya on the global map on the interest it gains by throwing its behind some of the superpower countries when the country is currently struggling economically.
Ruto also faces criticism over his frequent meeting abroad and the loans he has secured with little or nothing to show about back home.
