Rwanda has summoned UK High Commissioner Lord Collins of Highbury following his remarks during a parliamentary session in the House of Lords.
Through a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the summon was as a result of his response when asked about an attack on a church in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) by ADF terrorists where he was quoted saying “When I met the Foreign Minister of Rwanda (…) he actively denied and refuted these accusations”.

According to the Ministry the statement by Lord Collins is false, insulting and dangerous thus the need to shed more light on the same.
Rwanda noted that the response by Lord Collins was false as ADF was never discussed or mentioned by the two Ministries in Geneva.
They continued by saying that is it wrong and insulting to link them with the Ugandan terrorism group affiliate to ISIS/Daesh and at the same time they are fighting a similar organization in Cabo Delgado.
The Ministry of Foreign Affair noted that it was totally irresponsible for the UK Minister to issue such a statement based on conspiracy theory which could undermine the ongoing Africa-led peace process.
The position of Rwanda is that the UK Prime Minister acknowledges his mistake, plan and send a letter to the House of Lords to correct his statement.
