Rwanda has welcomed progress progress in DRC peace talks with both sides halting its operations to give dialogue a chance.
Through a statement, Rwanda welcomed a move by M23 to reposition its forces as well as DRC’s FARDC and Wazalendo to halt its operations in order to talk matters peace.

“Rwanda welcomes M23’s announcement on the repositioning of its forces from Walikale in support of peace initiatives underway, as well as DRC’s announcement that all offensive operations by FARDC and Wazalendo will be halted.” read the statement.
Rwanda continued by emphasizing their commitment in ensuring that the EAC-SADC summit discussions will pave way for a lasting political and security settlement for the region.
“Rwanda is committed to working with all parties to ensure adherence to commitments, particularly in the context of the joint EAC-SADC summit process and other initiatives which pave the way towards a lasting political and security settlement in the region.” read the statement
