A Nairobi Court has on Friday ordered the remand of Sarah Cohen, the wife of the late Dutch tycoon Tod Cohen for four day pending determination as to whether she will undergo mental assessment or not.
The ruling follows an application by DPP that informed that the court that they have enough evidence to prove that she was involved in the murder of the businessman back in 2019.
“The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has asked court to facilitate a mental assessment for Sarah Wairimu Kamotho before she pleads to a murder charge.

The application by the DPP was made through Prosecution Counsel Vincent Monda, Wangeci Gichui, Ebby Maswai, Christine Timoi and Peris Maina when Ms. Wairimu, who was arrested on the 23rd of January 2025 in Nairobi, was presented at the Kibera High Court this morning.
Prosecution told court Ms. Wairimu, who is facing the charge in relation to the death of her husband, Dutch billionaire Tob Cohen in 2019, needs to be assessed before taking plea.
Hon. Lady Justice Diana Kavedza remanded Ms. Wairimu at the Langata Women Prison until the 29th of January 2025 when she will rule on the matter.” said ODPP
Sarah will now be remanded at the Lang’ata Women prison until 29th January where the Judge will rule as to whether she will undergo fresh mental assessment or not.
