Former Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has been arrested shortly after an arrest warrant was issued against him.
The Senator was picked from his home on Wednesday by detectives and taken in for questioning over the loss of 1 billion meant to benefit students in their education.
Mandago was taken to Nakuru Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) offices where he was to record a statement for the second time this month after doing so on August 10th.

“I have today recorded my statement at the DCI Kenya (Kiambu Road) on the Finland and Canada overseas education program,” he said
The arrest comes shortly after President William Ruto noted that he will not defend anyone linked to the Finland and Canada programme.
Jackson Mandago has also been clear that he had not gone into hiding despite allegation that the police are after his trail but they cannot locate him.
“There are rumours all over Eldoret Town that DCI Officers have been looking for me the whole night. As a law abiding citizen, I am available once summoned. I have met with the leadership of parents and agreed on the way foward as per their press statement issued last evening,” he said
The angry parents and students are now calling on justice including compensation of their money as they had even sold their properties to fund the programme.
