Nandi County Senator Kiprotich Arap Cherargei has rattled some feathers with his proposal to extend the Presidential limit to 7 years.
Through a memorandum to the National Dialogue committee (NADCO), the Senator noted that the extension from 5 years to 7 years is to allow stability and pragmatic development in the country.
Other proposals by the Senator include the re-introduction of the office of the Prime minister, creation of the office of the official Opposition leader, parties to give 30% to the youth, women and PWDs during nominations in the General elections, the senate to be given veto powers on the bills in Parliament and increment to 40% allocation to counties in National revenue.

Despite issuing the proposal, Kenyans have completely disagreed on the proposal to increase the Presidential term limit with many saying that was the main agenda from the word go.
“Hapo kwa number 5 ndio main agenda yenu, that’s your main goal.” said David Andera
The news comes at a time when Kenyans are pleading with the government to solve the high cost of living issue in the country. Above all, the government has been asked to reduce the cost of fuel as it has a replica effect in the economy.
