Busia Senator Okiya Omtata was on Friday involved in a minor road accident at Ojolla area, along the Kisumu-Busia road.
As at the time of the accident, the Senator’s car was heading to Busia when a truck hit it from behind at a steep hill near Maseno.

Reports from the accident revealed that the truck developed brake issue before it moved backwards hitting Omatata’s car which was behind it.
Confirming the news was Nyanza Regional Traffic Boss Allan Mwangi who said that the incident was caused by a brake malfunction and that both vehicles were towed to Maseno police station.
After the incident, the Senator proceeding with his journey.
