Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru has on Monday revealed that Senator Okiya Omtatah is missing hours after he was taken to Gigiri police station.
According to the lawyer, the Senator has not been booked at the police station and his whereabouts remain unkown.

“Fellow Kenyans Sen. Omtata is MISSING…. He was picked up by the POLICE. We Martha Karua have been at Gigiri police station in search of Senator Omtata. Sen. Omtata has not been booked at that police station, and his whereabouts is not known.” he said
Omtatah is among activists who staged demonstrations across the country calling for the release of several Kenyans who had been abducted for criticizing the President.
Earlier during the day, the activists locked themselves using a chain preventing the police from arresting them but they changed their tactics arresting them one by one.
