Six people have been rescued on Wednesday morning as efforts to reach many others continues in Kitengela, Kajiado County.
The operations follows a heavy downpour hitting parts of Nairobi County county and its environs that has caused havoc and displaced many.

We are currently on the ground assisting families to move to safety in Kitengela, Kajiado County, following heavy rainfall. Our teams are actively involved in helping households along Deliverance Road, Balozi Road, Baraka Road, Blessed Court, New Valley, Changombe, and KAG area.” said Kenya Red Cross.
Kenyans in the affected area took on social media calling on urgent intervention to help them as they could not leave their houses and the floods were already carrying some people whose number is yet to be confirmed.
As on Tuesday night, 170 people were confirmed dead and 102 others reported to have sustained injuries. At least 30,099 households have been displaced with property of unknown value damaged in the process.
Many of the affected people cried over lack of help from the government as they are forced to use their bare hands to retrieve bodies of their loved ones.
