Sniper: Governor Mwangaza’s brother to be charged with murder

Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza’s brother is among two suspects set to be charged with the murder of blogger Daniel Muthiani alias Sniper.

The two, Murangiri Kenneth Guantai (Mwangaza’s brother) and Vincent Murithi are set to appear before the High Court were the charges will be mentioned.

The developments follows the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) who forwarded their files to the DPP recommending their prosecution.

In a statement, the DPP noted that there is sufficient evidence to charge the two suspects for the gruesome murder of the Meru blogger whose death caused uproar among Kenyans.

The news follows the arrest of five more suspects in connection to the murder with the five expected to be presented before the court which will further issue the way forward in the case.

Daniel Muthiani alias Sniper went missing on December 2nd and his body was discovered on December 16th along the Mutonga River in Tharaka Nithi county.

Postmortem into his body revealed that the blogger had been torture first before he was strangled to death by his abductors.
