The number of fatalities in the South Korea plane disaster involving Jeju Air has risen to 179 as at Sunday evening with the two survives being crew members.
“Authorities confirmed 179 out of 181 people were killed in Jeju Air 2216 crash tragedy. The two survivors, both crew members, are reportedly recovering after being moved to hospitals in Seoul.” said Yejin Gim

The Jeju Air plane that was flying from Bangkok, Thailand crashed at Muan Airport after its landing gear failed to launched even though a bird strike has also been included in the cause of the accident.
“A Jeju Air plane from Bangkok, Thailand to Muan, South Korea crashed while landing due to an apparent bird strike. Of the 181 people on board, 173 were Korean nationals and 2 were Thai nationals among 175 passengers, and 6 were crew members. It happened around 9 AM this morning.” said Yejin Gim
President William Ruto has mourned with the people of South Korea saying that his thoughts are with the victim’s families.
“We are devastated by the Jeju Air accident that has claimed more than 170 lives. Our thoughts are with the victims’ families and the people of South Korea at this sorrowful time.” he said
