Satellite internet service provider Starlink is now offering a rental plan for the Starlink kit in the country.
The American based company owned by billionaire Elon Musk who also owns social media platform X and Space X noted that the rental plans comprises of Ksh 2,700 as a one time activation fee.
It then contains a monthly hardware rental fee of Ksh 1,950 and a monthly service plan of as slow as Ksh 1,300 which comprises of 50 GB.

The news has been welcomed by many Kenyans who have been demanding the kit but due to its high cost, has seen many shy of purchasing it.
A move by the satellite company to drop the one time price of the kit from Ksh 45,000 to Ksh 29,999 has also been welcomed by many who have requested for much lower prices given that they appreciate its high speeds.
It is yet to be seen whether the company will lower its monthly plans even after the introduction of Ksh 1,300 plan consisting of 50GB plan.
