Several passengers onboard the Super Metro were on Sunday arrested by National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) officers in Thika, Kiambu County.
The arrest was part of a national crackdown targeting vehicle flouting transport rules and ensure safety of other passengers.
“Excess passengers off-loaded and detained. To avoid any inconveniences, do not board an overloaded vehicle.” said NTSA

The excess passengers were ordered out the vehicle and into a waiting vehicle where they are expected to be charged as per the law.
During the crackdown, those using strobe lights, light bars, sirens etc were also arrested by the agency which also advised vehicle owner to remove modified or unauthorized lights.
“In implementation of the directive on the Ban on use of strobe lights, light bars, sirens etc, several vehicles were nabbed at various check points.
To avoid any inconveniences, all motor vehicle owners are advised to remove modified or unauthorized lights on their vehicles.” said NTSA
