Tanzanian independent media editor and human rights defender Maria Sarungi has been kidnapped in Kilimani area, Nairobi by three armed men.
Confirming the news was Amnesty Kenya who said that the three armed men were onboard a black Noah when the incident happened.

“Tanzanian independent media editor and human rights defender kidnapped by three armed men in a black Noah from Chaka Place, Kilimani, Nairobi, Kenya at 3.15pm today. Teams on site. Spread the word, let’s keep Maria safe.” said Amnesty Kenya
Maria who is a communication expert is a big critic of President Samia Suluhu and has not been shy to expose the rot in the government through her articles.
She recently revealed that the government was procuring two airplanes with one to be used by VIP individualas and the second one to be handed over to Air Tanzania as a passenger plane.
She accused the Parliament of approving the budget yet hospitals in the country are short on medical supplies.
“Our Parliament is useless. How could you pass this budget? Mothers are dying during childbirth and you are approving billions to buy a plane for VIPS?” she said
