“Hon. Tundu Lissu has been arrested. According to the Tanzania Police, Lissu has been arrested on the Unlawful Assembly as well as obstruction of Police officers discharging their duties, which are all trumped-up charges. Meanwhile, Mr. Lissu’s whereabouts aren’t known.” he said
Before his arrest, Lissu had done a series of meetings including that at Ngorongoro conservation area where he visited the Masaai people in the area.
Since his return from exile in January, the opposition leader has been a huge critic of President Samia Suluhu’s administration blaming her of violating human rights as was the case in ngorongoro where several people were killed and others injured.
