Lectures from the Technical University (TUK) have issued a strike notice set for Tuesday 14th January if the government fails to meet their demands.
Speaking on Sunday, the lecturers called on the government to release their December 2024 salaries with immediate effect.

“We are therefore demanding that the government through the Ministry of Education and the University Council pay our members their December 2024 salaries immediately and also address other issues related to financial obligations of the employer,” they said
According to the lecturers they will paralyze learning at the institution and if things remain the same, then they will move to the Parliament, Treasury and the Ministry of Education to echo their grievances.
“Further to this, we shall hold a major beacon to deliver petitions to the National Assembly, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Education on a Tuesday, 14th of January 2025,” they said
The police have already been informed about their intended demonstration as revealed by the lecturers who want things to be resolved quickly.
