Ten man Arsenal beat Crystal Palace to record second Premier League win

Arsenal has closed off the second round of the English Premier League with a crucial 1-0 win against Crystal Palace.

Tomiyasu who had been booked after delaying to throw in the ball, got his second yellow card of the night after bringing down Jordan Ayew cutting off a potential counter attack by the host.

Palace who had been struggling in possession found themselves caught in set piece when the Gunners took a quick free kick before Nketiah was brought down by the goalkeeper to give the visitors a penalty. Captain Martin Odegaard converted from the spot to give Mikel Arteta’s side the lead.

Arteta once again played Thomas on the left back of the defense preferring to play Declan Rice in the midfield, a system that has drawn plenty of criticism as the usual Arsenal style of play had been affected greatly.

Eze claimed for a penalty when Thomas Partey looked as if he had brought him down only for the VAR decision going against them.

The win send Arsenal third on the table with six points from matches played and level wih Manchester City and Brighton who have also won their first two fixtures. Crystal Palace in 11th position with three points.
