Kilifi County askaris have on Monday burnt ten sacks containing muguka recovered in Malindi, Adu, Mtwapa,Kilifi Kaskazini, Mariakani na Gongoni.
Speaking on the same was Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung’aro who thanked residents for the tip promising that together they will fight the entrance, sale and usage of the drug so as to save the youth.
“Hii leo, maafisa wetu wa usalama wamefanikiwa kunasa na kuteketeza zaidi ya gunia 10 za muguka kufuatia msako mkali ulioendelezwa katika sehemu za Malindi, Adu, Mtwapa,Kilifi Kaskazini, Mariakani na Gongoni.

Shukran za dhati kwa wakazi wa Kilifi ambao wameendelea kushirikiana nasi kwa kutupa habari muhimu kuhusu wale ambao wanaendelea kukiuka agizo tulilotoa la kupiga marufuku utumizi na uingizaji wa bidhaa hiyo Kilifi. Naamini kwa pamoja, tutamaliza jinamizi hili na kuokoa vijana wetu.” he said
The news follows a petition filed in Mombasa challenging the executive orders signed by the Mombasa, Kilifi and Taita Taveta County governor prohibiting the entrance, distribution, sale and usage of the drug.
Leaders and farmer from Embu and Meru have condemned the orders saying that muguka is not toxic as portrayed and only the Parliament can declare it illegal.
