Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has condemned the murder of women in the country given the recent news making headlines.
Through a statement, the ODM party leader noted that the killings are now a national emergency and that it a threat to homeland security.
“It is sad to see a troubling increase in the deaths of young women, leaving a trail of grief for families and friends. The abnormality of these murders cannot become the new normal. Murder is and will always be wrong, and there is no excuse.

The ugly scourge of murder of women is now a national emergency. It is a threat to homeland security. It must come to an end.” said Raila.
The former Prime Minister was speaking following the recent murder of Starlet Wahu and Rita Waeni inside Airbnb’s in Nairobi.
Two suspects connected to the two murders have already been arrested pending further investigation.
Kenyans and non-governmental bodies have condemned the killing as they called on the government to respond swiftly to tame the vice.
