Third contingent of Kenyan police arrive in Haiti for peace keeping mission

The third contingent of Kenya Police has arrived in Haiti ahead of its peace keeping mission in the wore torn country as confirmed by the National Police Service (NPS).

“The third contingent of 217 Kenyan police officers to the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSS) that left Kenya on January 18, 2025 have arrived safely at Port-au-Prince Airport in Haiti where they were received by the Haitian authorities.

The team was escorted by the Deputy National Security Advisor/former Inspector General National Police Service, Mr. Joseph Boinnet, Deputy Inspector General Administration Police Service, Mr. Gilbert Masengeli, and Commandant General Service Unit, Mr. Ranson Lolmodoni, SAIG.” they said

Through a statement, NPS noted that another contingent of 400 police officers will also join them for the mission in due time .

“The next batch of the remaining 400 Officers will also be joining the Haiti team in due time. The National Police Service takes this opportunity to wish the MSS success in their international policing duty.” read the statement.

The news comes hours after they were flagged of by Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen who expressed confidence in the officers and that they will continue with the excellent work.

“Addressing the Officers, CS Murkomen expressed his confidence that the Officers will continue with the excellent work that is ongoing by their colleagues on the ground, in bringing order and normalcy to Haiti.” said NPS
