Three people have been arrested for assaulting a woman in Nyamira during a burial ceremony as revealed in a viral video.
In the video, a number of men could be seen forcing the woman to collect soil and pour into the grave, an issue that she refused only to be beaten up before she was let go.
It is not clear what had happened before the incident but the video has irritated members of the public who called for the immediate arrest of the men in the video.

Confirming the news was the National Police Service (NPS) who noted that they have arrested three suspects in connection to the incident after the lady reported the incident to the police.
“In Nyabisimba, Nyamira County, three individuals have been arrested for assaulting a woman at a graveyard during a burial ceremony.
The suspects, identified as Robert Pokea Sarudi, 43, Bismark Ondiek Sarudi, 40, and Lameck Ogindo Osoro, 27, allegedly forced the woman to participate in traditional rituals against her will, where they assaulted her inflicting injuries on her body.
The incident occurred on March 21, 2025, when the woman, who had been married to her late ex-husband for over nine years, found herself caught in a troubling family dispute. After separating from her ex-husband and losing touch for years, she was contacted by her mother-in-law and asked to bring her children to their father’s funeral following his tragic death in a road accident.
As the grieving family gathered to bid farewell, the woman was ambushed by her in-laws who insisted she partake in the burial customs of throwing soil into the grave. When she refused their demands, they reportedly unleashed a brutal attack, accusing her of being responsible for her husband’s death.
Authorities were alerted, and an investigation was promptly initiated. The three suspects were trailed and arrested in Mwongorisi sub-location.
They have since been taken to Kiambere Police Station, where they are undergoing processing before facing charges.” said DCI
As the suspects remain in custody, the police have called on those with information to step forward and assist the police in the investigations.
“Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend additional suspects involved in this distressing incident.” said DCI
