Three Judicial staff based in Makueni County have been arrested over alleged fake receipts issued to facilitate the release of accused persons.
Court Assistant Nelson Munyaka, Accountant David Mwaura and Court Driver William Musembi are reported to have used fake receipts totaling to Ksh 161,000 between February 14th to 16th 2024.
They are now in police custody assisting the detective unravel more details and suspects involved in the business.

“Police in Nunguni Police Post, Makueni County on 27/02/2024 detained three judicial officers among them Court Assistant Nelson Munyaka, Accountant David Mwaura and Court Driver William Musembi.
The trio is suspected of conspiring and issuing fake receipts for payment of court fines and forfeitures and subsequent release of accused persons from either Court or Police stations.
Today, forged receipts amounting to Kshs 161,000/= were verified and established to have been issued between Feb 14, 2024 and Feb 16, 2024 in respect to some traffic cases where accused persons had pleaded guility and fined.The supects are assisting the Police with investigation.” said National Police Service
