Three men are feared dead after being shot and scores other injured following a fight over disputed land in Elgeyo Marakwet.
The early morning incident begun after two communities fought over the land that lies on the border of Kerio Valley in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

Witnesses revealed how a group from one community torched the house of a neighbouring community due to the land dispute.
Speaking after the incident was Elegeyo Marakwet Police Commander Zablon Okoyo who confirmed that police officers have been deployed to calm the situation and prevent further aggression from either sides.
”It is about a land dispute between two clans that had an early agreement about some parcel of land, but the agreement was not well furnished,” he said
Unluckily today in the morning, there was a gunfight between the two sides that left the three with fatalities and the injuries recorded,” he continued
Okoyo has termed the incident as an isolated case confirming that the two communities have been living in harmony for a very long time.
