Popular social media platform Tik Tok is set to cease its operations in the U.S on January 19th following an anticipated ban by the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court is set to ban Tik Tok on grounds that it poses a national security threat as was the case during President Donald Trump’s first term.
They could however continue with its operations if they could secure a buyer in the U.S.

“TikTok to cease U.S. operations on January 19 following Supreme Court’s anticipated upholding of federal ban over national security concerns. Approximately 170 million American users will be affected. ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, has not secured a buyer for its U.S. operations.
President-elect Donald Trump has expressed a desire to save the app and is involved in negotiating a deal, though the ban is set to be effective a day before his inauguration. Developing story.” said Garowe Online
