President William Ruto has confirmed that TikTok will run a national training programme in Kenya in order to increase monetization and promote positive content.
The Head of State was speaking during a progress review on matters moderation and monetization of the social media platform. Present during the meeting was Director TikTok Africa Fortune Sibanda and ICT PS John Tanui.

“Had a progress review on the issues of moderation and monetization of the service with fortune sibanda (Director TikTok Africa) among others. Also present was ICT PS Tanui John.
Kenyan creatives deserve to make a livelihood from their ability to create good content. TikTok will run a national training programme in Kenya to empower content creators through comprehensive platform knowledge, fostering increased monetization and promoting positive content.” said President William Ruto
The President was speaking after promising to hold discussions over the type of content promoted on the platform following complaints by Kenyans over increased postage of explicit content.
