Transport Licensing Appeals Board halts Super Metro operation ban

Its a reprieve form Super Metro Limited after the Transport Licensing Appeals Board issued temporary orders halting the ban imposed by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).

Transport Licensing Appeals Board Chairman Adrian Adrian Kamotho confirmed that the company is free to resume its operations within the confines of the law.

“Pending inter-party hearing of the motion and the memorandum of appeal….an interim order is hereby issued staying the operation of the decision of the respondents dated 18th March suspending the operations of the applicant,” read the order.

NTSA had previously accused Super Metro of failing to meet some safety standards in some of its fleets as it called on its immediate inspection at the NTSA center on Likoni Road.

“This is to notify the Public that the Authority has suspended Super Metro Limited’s operator license until the Company fully complies with the Public Service Vehicles Regulations, 2014 and other set conditions.” said NTSA

The decision by NTSA follows an outcry by members of the public some of the vehicles had been involved in some serious cases like pushing a passengers off a moving vehicle.
