Trump slaps Canada, Mexico and China with tariffs on imports

President Donald Trump has implements tariffs on imports to Canada, Mexico and China keeping good his promise before and after his inauguration.

Mexico and Canada will both have a 25% tariffs on imports with 10% on Canadian energy and 10% additional tariffs on China.

According to Trump, this was implemented by the International Emergency Economic Powers Act(IEEPA) because of the threat of illegal immigrants and deadly drugs such as fentanyl causing harm to Americans.

He continued by saying that the decision is him keeping his promise to protect his citizens by stopping the entrance of aliens and drugs into the country.

The news comes at a time when USAID had its website go offline after Trump’s declaration halting funding of non-government agencies.

Thousands of workers are expected to be laid off until when a way forward is figured out by both the administration and the agency.

Democrats have hit back at Trump’s administration reminding him that USAID is an independent agency and that they have plans to turning it into a state agency.
