Police acting on a tip off from members of the public have arrested two people for handling suspected stolen goods in Mombasa.
Julius muthomi,20, and Pius Kang’ethe Maina, 29 were arrested at Rio building located along Digo road with the suspected properties including laptops valued at over 1.2 million.

“Contrary to some fake news doing rounds in the online space, two suspects – Julius muthomi,20, and Pius Kang’ethe Maina, 29 – were arrested on November 11, 2024 by the OCS Central Police Station, Mombasa, for the offence of handling suspected stolen properties.
The two were arrested within Mombasa CBD following a tip-off from members of the public. In the operation conducted at Rio building along Digo Road, 51 mobile phones, several laptops among other items worth over Sh1.2 million were recovered.
Both the exhibits and the two suspects were escorted to the Station and legal action taken.” said DCI
Prior to there arrest, the police had initially declared a post false as it said that the two suspects had broken into State House Mombasa and slept on the President’s bed.
