National police officers have recovered two firearms stolen from two police officers in Siaya during the week.
The MP5 and AK47 riffles were recovered from one Sheikh Rashid at Hawinga after escaping the police dragnet for sometime now as confirmed by the police.

“NPS Officers have recovered the two firearms lost this week where one NPS Officer was killed and the other seriously injured while escorting KCSE papers to Mahero Secondary School in Siaya County.
The MP5 and AK47 Rifle were recovered at Hawinga from the house of Sheikh Rashid who escaped the police dragnet, while two suspects were fatally wounded. The National Police Service reiterates its commitment to serve and to protect.” said NPS
Speaking after the incident, locals confirmed that the two must have been from another county as the area has been peaceful all these years.
