Detectives have arrested two police officers as they ferried 13 illegal immigrants in Lokichar, Turkana county.
The 13 immigrants included eight Ethiopians, four Eritreans and a Sudanese who were taken in for interrogation.
As at the time of the arrest, the two police officers who included a driver and his accomplice were armed with AK-47 riffles which were taken from them and the two detained.
According to reports, the immigrants came from Ethiopia and were headed to Kitale before they could move to South Africa in search of green pastures.
This is not the first time such a case has been confirmed in the country but the only difference is the immigrants point of entry which has changed from Moyale to Turkana border.
