Two-time world heavyweight boxing champion George Foreman dies

Two-time world heavyweight boxing champion and Olympic gold medalist George Foreman has passed away on Friday at the age of 76-years.

Foreman who was a fierce rival of legend Muhammad Ali is well known for the famous ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ title bout.

Confirming the news of his passing on was a verified account dedicated to him which said that the legendary boxer died peacefully while surrounded with his loved ones.

 “Our hearts are broken. With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved George Edward Foreman Sr. who peacefully departed on March 21, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. A devout preacher, a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grand and great grandfather, he lived a life marked by unwavering faith, humility, and purpose.

A humanitarian, an Olympian, and two time heavyweight champion of the world, He was deeply respected — a force for good, a man of discipline, conviction, and a protector of his legacy, fighting tirelessly to preserve his good name— for his family.

Mourning the legendary boxing champion was Mike Tyson who said his contribution to boxing will never be forgotten.

“Condolences to George Foreman’s family. His contribution to boxing and beyond will never be forgotten.” said Mike Tyson
