David Oaga Mokaya, a university student accused of publishing false images of President William Ruto will now face full trial after the State declined to withdraw the case.
Mokaya is accused of posting a funeral procession on his X account misleading his followers and other users on the app not only with the images but also with the caption.

Prosecution counsel Sonia Njoki informed the court that she not received any instructions to withdraw the case thus sending it to full trial.
According to the State, the images of the funeral procession with a full military escort and the Kenyan flag was fabricated to mislead the public that it was the President.
The November13th, 2024 images were taken to record in the charge sheet and it was indicated that it claimed it was President William Ruto leaving a funeral home.
Through his lawyer Danstan Omari, David Oaga Mokaya sought to know if President William Ruto will testify in the case and whether he had recorded a statement on the same.
The hearing of the case will kick off on May 29th even though Mokaya is out on bond.
