Wagner group boss Yevgeny Prigozhin killed in plane crash

Wagner group boss Yevgeny Prigozhin has been killed in a plane crash together with several other as confirmed by Russia’s civil aviation authority.

The Russian mercenary leader has been listed as one of the passengers that were on board the plane that crashed and had no survivors.

There is however no concrete confirmation that Yevgeny was physically inside the plane that crashed on Wednesday evening.

“An investigation has been launched into an Embraer plane crash that occurred tonight in the Tver region. According to the passenger list, the name and surname of Yevgeny Prigozhin is among them,” said Rosaviatsia of Russia’s aviation agency

The emergency ministry of Russia confirmed that a private Embraer Legacy aircraft to St. Petersburg from Moscow had crashed in the Tver Region.

The ten on board include three crew members and preliminary investigations confirmed that no one survived the incident.

Yevgeny Prigozhin in June launched an attack on Russia top army leaders as speculations had it that he was planning to overthrow President Putin.

All plans were halted as the 62-year-old promised to move to Bellarus but was later spotted working freely in Russia despite the new deal.
