“The Council of Governors specially thanks the Senate finance committee led by Governor Ali Roba and by extension the Division of Revenue Allocation Mediation committee of the Senate and National Assembly for increasing the Equitable share to counties by 9B to arrive at 400.1B in FY 2024/2025.
Devolution is sacrosanct in the constitution and adequately resourcing functions that counties are mandated to deliver is progressive and a welcome move.” said Waiguru
Initially, the Council had proposed Ksh 439.5 billion share which was set at Ksh 391 billion by Treasury and Ksh 398.14 billion by CRB causing a stalemate forcing the President to call for understanding that the country was struggling financially.
