Kevin Kang’ethe, a suspect wanted for the murder of a woman in the US has been arrested in Ngong, Kajiado County.
Confirming his arrest was Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei ending a five day manhunt of the suspect who escaped Muthaiga police station under unclear circumstances.
At Muthaiga police station, Kang’ethe was under detention pending further direction of the court as to whether he will extradited to the US to face murder charges.

Already the police had arrested John Maina Ndegwa, a lawyer who had visited the suspect at the station seeking to speak to his client. Kang’ethe was then allowed to leave the cell and that is when he walked out of the station, boarded a matatu and went into hiding.
His escape raised more questions on the security of the country given the weight of the allegation and attention his arrest had received even from the US.
