We will not let our son to be mistreated, says Governor Kahiga

Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga has broken his silence over alleged rift between President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua.

Speaking from his county on Sunday, Governor Kahiga noted that that as a community they will not allow their son to be humiliated.

The Governor was speaking as he highlighted the rift that occurred between former President Uhuru Kenyatta and his then Deputy William Ruto leading that saw then DP to be stripped off some privilages.

“I want to say here in front of everyone, we will not allow our son (Gachagua) to go through what Ruto went through in the hands of Uhuru Kenyatta. We will not allow our son to be mistreated. We will not,” he said

Kahiga insisted that Gachagua fought for the position he currently holds and the decision was made as a block and thus he deserves to be respected.

“Disrespect to Gachagua is disrespect to the mountain, and vice versa. Those trying to bring bad blood between the president and his deputy, we are warning you,” he continued

The governor’s statement follows allegations that the two leaders have fallen out, allegations that were denied by Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei.

This was also fueled by Deputy Rigathi Gachagua’s silence and absent during key government functions.
