Yagnesh Devani, prime suspect in Ksh 7.6M Triton Oil scandal arrested

EACC detectives have on Tuesday arrested Yagnesh Devani, a prime suspect in the Ksh 7.6M Triton Oil scandal.

“The chief suspect in the Kes.7.6 billion Triton Oil scandal, Yagnesh Devani, arrested by EACC this morning, will spend the night at Kilimani Police Station. He was escorted to Kilimani this afternoon after processing at EACC Integrity Centre Police Station.” said EACC

Devani was arrested at his office in Nairobi before he was taken to Milimani Law Courts where Chief Magistrate Thomas Nzioki ordered that he should be detained until Wednesday when he will be required to take plea.

“Earlier in the day, the suspect was presented to Milimani Anti-Corruption Court, where Chief Magistrate Thomas Nzioki ordered that he be placed in police custody until Wednesday when he will be arraigned to take plea.

He was arrested pursuant to a warrant issued by the court 16 years ago when he fled the country after investigations into the oil scam were completed.” said EACC
